Hi, my name is Florence! I am approximately 1.5 years old and weigh 45lbs. I came from Northern Saskatchewan as a stray. The people at the rescue saved me from a pack of males who were ganging up on me. I was a shutdown very fearful when I came into the rescue but I am starting to come out of my shell.
I am a sweet and shy girl and need an experienced home that will work with me to continue to build up my confidence. I enjoy the company of people that I know but I get easily frightened by sudden movements and loud sounds so I would not do well in a busy home or home with young children.
I get braver and braver each day and now enjoy going on walks and I am starting to take cues from the confident resident dogs in my foster home. Another calm but confident dog in my forever home would be extremely beneficial for me.
I get along with most dogs and don't mind the resident cats at my foster home. I know how to sit, come, leave it, and will continue learning more obedience with my foster mom until I find my forever home.
I sleep in a crate at bedtime because I feel safe and secure.
Because it takes me a little bit to get comfortable around new people, I do require a family that will help me to slowly transition to a new home. This would mean, more than one meet and greet and later maybe a short play date away from my foster home for a few hours until I work up to being comfortable with my new family.
If you think you might be the perfect forever home for me, please fill out an application and someone at the rescue will contact you if we are a good match!
